MIEKA PAULEY possesses a voice that flows like good whiskey and a frankness that makes Alanis Morissette look shy. She conjures up a sonic immediacy with the same masterful command as Ani DiFranco with driving, yearning melodies that stand alongside the work of Michelle Shocked, Neko Case and Emmylou Harris.

Mieka began as a solo artist in Boston. Her haunting voice and heartbreaking lyrics gained her more than a few fans, securing her bills with Eric Clapton, Jason Mraz, Citizen Cope, Lyle Lovett, Wyclef Jean, Black Eyed Peas, John Hiatt, Edwin McCain, John Legend, KT Tunstall, Natasha Bedingfield, Ben Kweller, Mindy Smith, Mason Jennings, the Avett Brothers, and many others while earning herself slots at must-see music events (Newport Folk Festival, South by Southwest, CMJ) and high-profile gigs like singing the national anthem at Red Sox games. She's also been featured on BBC London Radio, PRI's "Mountain Stage" and the music session blog Daytrotter.
Her song "Devil's Got My Secret" can be heard in the movie Peace, Love and Misunderstanding, which stars Academy Award winner Jane Fonda, Oscar nominee Catherine Keener and Elizabeth Olsen.

She puts her guitar in the trunk of her car and does an average of 150 live shows a year criss-crossing the country. She follows her own vision for her music and her soul / blues / rock / acoustic / alternative style has brought comparisons to Ben Harper, Cat Power, Neko Case, Patty Griffin, Martin Sexton and others. Mieka describes her music as "mainstream indie rock" and feels the contradiction perfectly describes her obsessions.

She won the first ever Starbucks Emerging Artist Award, the New York Songwriters Circle Songwriting Contest, the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Showcase, the Rock Boat/BMI Song Contest and she was named Cosmopolitan Magazine's Fun Fearless Female Rockstar of the Year. Other top U.S. music festivals include The Newport Folk Festival and Rites of Spring in Nashville.

Northeast Performer calls her "a version of Sarah McLachlan with a switchblade in her shoe," The Boston Globe said she's "like Aretha in the husky vocal turns," and The Cornerstone Player dubbed her "the next meaningful female voice of her generation."

CHEF KAREN has put together a fantastic menu for this special evening !  The menu will consist of Passed & Stationary Hors d'oeuvre, Spanakopita, Mini Maryland Lump Crap Cakes w/ a Basil Remoulade, Roast Beef Crostini w/Horseradish Cream Sauce, Wasabi Cream & Roasted Pepper, Assorted Fresh Veggies & Chivy Divvy Dip, Warm Wheel of Brie smothered in Caramel Sauce & Pecans with Baguette, Hot Italian Meatballs in Marinara, Chicken Teriyaki Skewers w/peanut or teriyaki sauce. There will also be an Antipasto station w/ Cheddar & Asiago Cheese, Hot Capicola, Genoa Salami, Olives, Roasted Peppers, Roasted Artichokes Hearts, Bruschetta & Crusty Baguette. Also, Triple Chocolate Brownies and a selection of Mixed Cookies will be available to enjoy with Coffee or Tea.

THE RAFTERS are Miki Bryan and Dave Fitzgibbons a husband and wife duo. Their music is pop/folk influenced, with a focus on Miki's vocals over a blend of acoustic and atmospheric electric guitar. Their songs are often personal snap shots set within human themes.

The Rafters have opened for such national acts as Lori Mckenna, Michelle Malone and The Laws. They have shared Festival stages with Amy Ray (of the Indigo Girls), Joan Osborne, Gandalf Murphy and John Gorka. Currently, they are playing throughout New England in support of their 3rd CD "Breathing Room". They are working through the Fall of 2013 on their 4th CD with famed producer Crit Harmon (Martin Sexton, Susan Werner, Meg Hutchinson).

"Beautiful harmony and production run throughout the Rafters music" Ellen Schmidt - New England Folk Legend

"The Rafters songs are about real people and real things" Scott Alarik -Folk Writer - Boston Globe, Sing Out

"I LOVE Miki's voice. First off it's simply pleasurable to listen to, regardless of the lyric. The tone is enveloping and comes off as very authentic and without pretense, and that's rare. It's a voice that is comfortable saying profound things." Lorne Entress ~ Producer ~ Drummer

LAKE MANITOOK is a 56 acre stream fed lake that is one of the town of Granby's longstanding hidden treasures. A very quiet lake used mostly for swimming, fishing and kayaking/canoeing. The lake has been noted for its excellent largemouth bass and pickerel fishing. Abundant bird life and other aquatic animals are prevelant. Every season the lake shows its different splendors, glorious sunsets and awesome foliage.
