<p>The town of Granby was first incorporated in 1786 when two villages of Simsbury, Turkey Hill and Salmon Brook, came together. With an estimated population of 11,000 Granby is one of Hartford County's smallest towns.  </p>
<p>The town is governed by charter and is operated by a Town Manager and a five-person Board of Selectmen. The town manager is appointed by the board and the board is elected every two years.</p> <p>Granby Town Hall is located at 15 North Granby Road in the center of the town's municipal complex. Town Hall contains the offices of town clerk, assessor, fire marshal, probate, registrar of voters, building and zoning, tax clerk and community development.</p>
