East Granby Public Library Lemonde Stand Raises Money for Charity

Children participating in the Read to Feed summer program raised more than $200 to donate to Heifer International.

East Granby Public Library patrons and other town residents helped local students raise more than $200 for the library's Read to Feed program through a five-day lemonade stand set up outside the library.

The lemonade stand was staffed by students , which aids needy families in overseas countries by providing animals, plants, seeds and other farming and food production necessities.

The young readers gathered $226.51 over five days.

Librarian Kathy LeBlanc was very appreciative for the community participation.

"Thank you patrons of the for your generosity
at our Lemonade Stand in July!" she wrote. "Thank you Tessa, Olivia, Sophie, Matt and Ryan for your wonderful idea to support our Read To Feed summer reading program! We are a caring community and have begun to make the world a better place."
