Connecticut in the American Civil War

This program will take a look at some of the less well-known aspects of the war, including our state's naval contributions, the participation of African Americans in the fight to end slavery at home and on the battlefield, and women's efforts to supply the troops and maintain stability on the home front. Discussion will be based on readings from Connecticut Explored magazine. Multiple copies are available to borrow at the library. Author Carole Shmurak and Professor Tom Ratliff from CCSU will lead the discussion. Sign up at the library, borrow a copy of the readings, and join the discussion! This program will be held in the Granby Town Hall Meeting Room. For more information, call 860-844-5275. (Snow date: March 4)
