Granby Board of Finance Schedules Budget Hearing

The hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 14.


The Board of Finance will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2014-2015 budget of $42.4 million on Monday night.

The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. April 14, in the Granby Memorial High School Auditorium, 315 Salmon Brook St. 

Public comments on the proposed budgets of the Board of Education and the Board of Selectmen will be heard. This public hearing also will address the proposed uses of federal, state and local revenues and certain town controlled funds included in the proposed budget of $42,489,848. 

If approved, the budget would increase the mill rate 1.98 percent to 35.52 mills.
The current budget is $41,622,968 with a mill rate of 34.83.

The public hearing will be followed by a special meeting of the Board Finance at 8 p.m., when the board will consider action on the budget that will be voted on April 28.

The annual budget vote is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m., April 28 in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
