East Granby to Hold Capital Expenditures Meeting

Voters will consider requests of about $19,000, $18,000 and $30,000.

A release from the town of East Granby:

There will be a Special Town Meeting held at the East Granby Town Hall on Wednesday, December 11th at 7:30 pm. The Special Town Meeting has been called by the Board of Selectman to consider three capital requests as approved by the Boards of Selectman, Education and Finance.  It is important to note that these requests are not for new appropriations but are part of the process of accessing the existing capital fund budget that was approved by Town voters as part of the FY 2013-14 Budget Referendum held in May of 2013.  The Town Meeting is East Granby’s legislative body and as such votes on individual capital projects proposed by the Boards throughout the fiscal year.

The Board of Selectmen is requesting a sum not to exceed $18,916.04 from the Capital Non-Recurring Fund for the Municipal Inter-local Risk Management Agency (MIRMA) workman’s compensation assessment.  The Board of Education is requesting a sum not to exceed $18,184 from the Capital Non-Recurring Fund for its share of the MIRMA assessment.  The Board of Selectmen is also requesting a sum not to exceed $30,000 for the final phase of the five year real estate and personal property revaluation which is required by Connecticut State Statutes.  For more information, please contact the Selectman’s Office at 860-653-2576.
