Businesses Evacuated After Granby Bank Receives Bomb Threat

Three branches of the Windsor Federal Savings Bank in Granby, Bloomfield, and Windsor were evacuated after receiving bomb threats Monday afternoon.

The Granby Police and Lost Acres Fire Department responded to a bomb threat at Windsor Federal Savings Bank on Hartford Avenue in Granby center Monday afternoon.

Three branches of Windsor Federal Savings in Granby, Bloomfield, and Windsor received similar threats around the same time, Granby Police Captain David Bourque said.

"We evacuated the surrounding buildings and businesses, secured the area and called in the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad to search the area," Bourque said.

Two state police dogs were brought to search the inside and outside of the building and members of the Lost Acres Volunteer Fire Department were prepared for any emergencies.

"They searched the area and at this point in time we've found no traces of any bomb material," Bourque said.

Police did not report any suspects at this time.
