Part Of Simsbury Road In Granby Closed Through Tues. Afternoon Following Single-Vehicle Accident

A cement mixer was involved in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon, according to Granby police. Removal and repair will keep the road closed through Tuesday afternoon.

Simbury Road in Granby, between Barndoor Hills Road and Holcomb Street (in Simsbury), is closed through Tuesday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in which no one was injured, according to Granby police.

The vehicle involved in the crash was a cement mixer, according to Granby Police Captain William Tyler. The large vehicle must be removed and repairs need to be made to the road before it can be reopened.

The accident occured at 12:22 p.m. Monday, according to Tyler. Connecticut DMV inspectors from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Division also came to the scene and are participating in an investigation of the incident.

The closed road can be detoured by continuing to the intersection of Barndoor Hills Road and Holcomb Street.
