Common Core = Socialist Indoctrination

Why is it that all instruction at GMHS will cease for 2 weeks and the children will be given practice tests to help out the common core?  I for one hate the whole idea.  My daughter has stated that she will just enter random answers and I can only hope the rest of the children do the same.  I think it our civic duty to thwart this common core nonsense now and nip it in the bud!!!

This is a hot topic; reminds me of the same comments that are being made about Obamacare. Here is a web site that has a plethora of accurate info: http://www.corestandards.org/ American 15-year-olds continue to turn in flat results in a test that measures students' proficiency in reading, math and science worldwide, failing to crack the global top 20. Common core may not be the answer in its current form but chance is needed. From "No Child left Behind" to "Race to the Top" the need is obvious and a joint effort is trying. I'd say you have to implement common core and tweak it as needed in areas that fall short. Doing nothing but tearing down new education reforms will continue to harm our future in todays world.

What I see are two things that disturb me. 1. Obama and the democrats want to use this to indoctrinate our children. 2. The large testing services are taking over the curriculum in our schools and they are charging huge bucks to get this done. The test itself is a nightmare on how to figure out how to navigate their not at all intuitive computer interface. The scores are horrible and not because the children don't know the content but because the everything and the kitchen sink interface BOMBS. As an aside, the testing service should be paying our kids for beta testing this crap !!!
