Kuhnly Wins Granby First Selectman Election in a Landslide, Republicans Fare Well

Kuhnley wins by nearly 2-1; Republicans control boards of finance, education and selectmen.

Republican Scott Kuhnly won the race for Granby first selectman in a landslide, defeating Democrat Jim Lofink by 800 votes.

The unofficial results show Kuhnly, a former selectman, defeating Lofink by a tally of 1,758 to 998, with 35 percent turnout for the day.

“I’ve got big shoes to fill and I’m going to give it my all,” Kuhnly said in a telephone interview, referencing John Adams, who has held the first selectman’s office for 10 years.
