The $579 million winning Powerball numbers were selected Wednesday night, and people in Granby and East Granby, as well as across the 42 states that participate, checked their tickets in anticipation. But according to the Associated Press early Thursday morning, the two winning tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri.
The winning Powerball numbers for the Nov. 28, 2012 drawing were 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and a Powerball number of 6.

The AP reported that he jackpot had gone 16 rounds without a winner, making it the largest of all time for Powerball. Tickets were selling at a rate of 130,000 a minute before the drawing on Wednesday night.
