A horse that was found on Meadowbrook Road last Wednesday is still waiting for its owner to contact Granby officials, according to Jennifer Abalan, Granby's animal control officer.
The mare, which appears to be about 9 years old, was found wearing the purple blanket in the photo but no harness. Granby officials have housed the animal in an area barn, but they still hope to find the owner.
If the owner is not found, Granby officials will consider putting the horse up for adoption, but they are still investigating and don't want adoption calls just yet, Abalan said.
Abalan said one person tried to claim the horse but could not give an accurate description.
