Simsbury Bank Adopts Tariffville Elementary School for "JA in a Day"

SIMSBURY, CT – May 16, 2014 For the third consecutive year, Simsbury Bank adopted Tariffville Elementary School on Friday, May 2, 2014 to deliver Junior Achievement’s business and economics program to 283 students from kindergarten through the sixth grade.

“Our students look forward to Simsbury Bank’s annual teaching day,” said Scott Baker, Principal of Tariffville Elementary School.  “They enjoy very much seeing how the reading, science and math that they are learning throughout the year is applied in business every day.”

Twenty eight volunteers from Simsbury Bank and the Simsbury community committed their day to deliver interactive lessons comprised of a unique set of concepts and skills tailored to each grade.  Students who attend Tariffville for their entire elementary school experience will enjoy building their knowledge each year from the most basic concepts like buying and selling to the complexity of international trade.
