Westfield Bank has plans to open a banking center in the Granby Village Shops in the next few months, the bank announced Wednesday.
The branch, which will include a full service banking center, a 24-hour deposit imaging ATM, and residential and commercial lenders, is the first location for Westfield Bank outside of western Massachusetts.
"We're excited to expand our presence in Connecticut," James C. Hagan, the bank's president and CEO said in a press release. "Granby provides us with a solid base to reach a broad range of consumer and businesses for their deposit and borrowing needs."
The bank is still in the process of getting the necessary local and regulatory approvals but has already hired residential lender Thomas Glynn.
"Tom Glynn has expertise in the Farmington Valley of Connecticut," Hagan said. We're pleased Tom has accepted our offer to join Westfield Bank and to be a key player in our expansion strategy."
The bank is also looking for a commercial lender and a branch manager with ties to Granby and the region.
Westfield Bank has headquarters in Westfield, MA, and operates 11 full-service banking offices in western Massachusetts.
