sweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt Hops into Avon

This is sweetFrog's fourth location in Connecticut.

sweetFrog opened two weeks ago near Cosi and the new Moe's Southwest Grill, riding the frozen yogurt wave into Avon.

But sweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt is more than a frozen yogurt place to the staff.

"This is more of an experience," said Marie Boyce, manager at the Avon frozen yogurt shop.

Avon's sweetFrog is the fourth frozen yogurt store for owners Scott and Amy Campbell, of Bolton, and Dan and Wendy Siricusa, of New Britain. The other locations are in West Hartford, Glastonbury and Manchester. Boyce said that the Avon site is the largest of the four.

Walk in and your eyes are captivated by the bright pink and green accent colors. Sections of couches and cushioned chairs invite people to stay for awhile and relax. The back room has an arcade so kids and families can play air hockey and games.

The frozen yogurt taps and toppings counters are similar to many frozen yogurt places.

sweetFrog is hopping into the Avon community with open arms. The frozen yogurt shop is open to doing fundraiser for community organizations and donating a portion of its proceeds on a given day.

The store is also planning to host events, such as a karaoke night with a local magician on Feb. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The owners of sweetFrog also plan to open another location in Colchester by February and one in Enfield by April, Boyce said.

sweetFrog is located at 385 West Main St. in the Shops at Dale Corner. The store is open from noon to 9:30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and 11 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. For more information, call the store at 860-470-7612 or visit the website, www.SweetFrogCT.com, or Facebook page (facebook.com/SweetFrogAvon).
