Officials Commemorate New Nonstop Los Angeles Flight From Bradley

Flight hailed as good for economy and convenient for residents.

Gov. Dannel Malloy joined local officials Tuesday at Bradley International Airport to commemorate the inaugural American Airlines flight to Los Angeles.

The nonstop flight will run daily, departing Bradley at 9:20 a.m. with an inbound flight from Los Angeles that is scheduled to arrive at Bradley at 8:10 a.m.

The addition is good for Connecticut's economy, Malloy said.

"The ability to access another very important market will facilitate enhanced economic activity," he said. "American Airlines' confidence in Bradley is the latest encouraging news that business and leisure travel in Connecticut is on the upswing."

The new flight will allow customers in the Hartford area convenient access to the international gateway, said American Airlines Regional Vice President Dale Morris.

East Granby First Selectman Jim Hayden said he is encouraged by the positive steps that the Connecticut Airport Authority is taking to improve economic development and activity in and around the airport.
