Curious people have already been stopping in at a new bakery and deli business to find out what's moving into the Salmon Brook Street building.
Peppermill Country Deli & Bakery is getting closer to opening in Granby and owner Jennifer Girard has been grateful for the support she's already seen from the community before the doors have even opened.
Patch asked Girard to give us the scoop on her new business before it opens to the public.
Patch: When did your business open? Is it family-run?
Girard: "These past few months have been very exciting and extremely busy. We are working very hard to finalize some last minute details and will be open to the public very shortly. We want to thank everyone for their interest and support they have shown during this long process.
"We are family owned. Our son, Ryan will manage the kitchen as well as do most of the cooking and our daughter Jackelyn will keep the front end of the store organized. I will oversee the operations of the store as well as doing baking. We encourage outside applicants."
Patch: What services do you offer at your company?
Girard: "We are a grab ‘n’ go establishment that specializes in unique deli sandwiches and mouth watering desserts. We will provide breakfast, lunch and baked goods which is all made fresh daily. We also will have a variety of entrée’s to choose from when you are looking for a well balanced homemade meal but life is a bit too busy."
Patch: What made you interested in your field?
Girard: "I have been filling cupcake orders for the past year and want to expand. I love to bake and share the food, it makes me happy and people love to eat and that makes them happy it’s a win - win."
Patch: Do you have a business mantra you live by?
Girard: "We promote a variety of fresh foods that are made on site daily with little or no preservatives."

Girard: "...travel and go to antique shops with my husband, spending time with my family and my dog, Moose."
