Two Granby Teens Prepare to Release Album

The self-described 'musicianaries' regularly play at Valley Brook Community Church.

Press release submitted by Dan Heermance

Two local Granby teens are preparing to release their first album as the band “I Am Clay,” and they are giving it away for free.

Chris and David Bugnacki, sons of Ray and Heather, live in North Granby and are students at Community Christian School in Westfield, MA.

Chris is a high school senior and he writes, sings and plays guitar. David is a high school sophomore and he sings backup vocals, plays drums and mandolin. The young men grew up in a home where their mother and grandfather regularly used their musical talents in church.

As their musical gifts became evident, the boys would play and sing with their mom, Heather. Now both boys regularly play and lead worship at Valley Brook Community Church and the church’s high school ministry called, Collide.

Dan Heermance of Valley Brook says, “I have watched these boys mature in their musical gifts and talents and as their youth pastor and a fellow musician I am blessed by their music and by the way they share their talents so freely at Valley Brook and with our Collide Student Ministry.”

Chris and David call their band “I am Clay,” and they see themselves as “musicianaries.” Their Twitter feed describes the band as: “… an indie worship project composed of Chris and Dave Bugnacki, two brothers who have the mission of loving others like Jesus through their music.”

"A musicianary is a musician who serves God and who shares the love of Christ with others with their music,” says Chris. "Our vision is to bless people by giving our music away for free.”

The band’s website is up front with the vision to give the music away. They invite interested people to partner with them in the production costs to help them produce and give their music away as a gift.

“We’re grateful to our church community for encouraging us and supporting us,” David said.

The band’s website is www.iamclayband.com and their twitter feed is https://twitter.com/IAmClayBand. You can visit either of these pages to get more information, hear samples of the new album, and read more about the vision of the band.
