Granby Land Trust, Art Association Host Annual Art Show

Juried show highlights beauty of local agricultural activities.

The Granby Land Trust, in partnership with the Granby Art Association, will host its annual art show, Art & Agriculture: Celebrating the Farmington Valley's Natural Beauty. 

The show, to be held Nov. 6 through Dec. 8, will showcase original artworks that highlight the beauty and importance of local agricultural activities and their heritage in Granby and the Farmington Valley.

An opening reception will be held Nov. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lost Acres Vineyard, 80 Lost Acres Road, North Granby. This event is open to the public and all are invited to attend at no cost. Hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary glass of wine will be served, with additional wine available for purchase.

The show will be juried by Carli Freeman, a formally trained artist and the manager of Art Essex Gallery in Essex, Connecticut. The art show’s 14 awards, totaling nearly $5,000, will be announced and presented at the Nov. 6 opening reception. 

A portion of art sales from the show will benefit the Land Trust. Art will be available for sale through December 8, 2013.
